Hi, I’m Viktor
World Champion, European Champion, and an Olympic
Medalist Water Polo goalkeeper
My journey in this beautiful sport began with an unexpected twist of fate. I was born with a hole in my heart, but destiny seemed to have a plan for me. The doctors recommended swimming as a way to strengthen my heart, and little did they know that this would be the start of an incredible adventure. At the age of 10, I discovered my true calling in water polo. As a goalie, I found my purpose defending the net with an unwavering focus and an unyielding spirit. Through hard work and dedication, I quickly climbed the ranks, becoming a youth Europe champion and earning the title of Best Goalie. I won silver medals in the Junior European Championships and Junior World Championships with my team where I was chosen Best Goalie once again. These milestones taught me the value of perseverance and the thrill of pushing my limits. Representing my country on the senior national team since 2005 has been an honor and a privilege. It is a testament to the power of passion and the rewards of relentless pursuit. In 2013, with the national team, we achieved a momentous milestone – the World Championship gold medal. It was an unforgettable triumph, and I was honored to be recognized as Best Goalie. The successful journey culminating at the pinnacle, marked by the Olympic bronze medal, was a long-cherished dream come true. The joy and pride that these achievements brought are immeasurable. These experiences will forever be an integral part of my career, demonstrating that perseverance and determination can take you anywhere. Looking back on the challenging yet awe-inspiring moments, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the future, where I can continue to inspire and teach young water polo players and goalies who strive for similar goals, find their passion in the water, to work hard, and to believe in themselves.
